New Mexico!
Greetings,
Well, besides crossing the Arizona/New Mexico border, things have not been quite as exciting lately. We made it 70 miles to the small town of Lordsberg, New Mexico. Unfortunately, the next morning we woke up to a snow blizzard and all of the roads leading out of town being closed. Consequently, we stayed in our motel room for one more day, with hopes of hitting the road again tomorrow morning.
Now that we are getting in better shape, long days on a bike are becoming more enjoyable and less exhausting. As long as the terrain isn't too mountainous and the wind isn't slowing us down, 70 mile days can be accomplished without a problem. We are happy that things are getting easier, and can only hope that the weather allows us to continue making progress across the southern half of the United States.
Tomorrow we hope to be in Deming, day after is Las Cruces, and the day after that, El Paso. We have begun looking at Texas, and as a result of the weather, may choose a different route. We have also realized that Texas is a country in itself, and may consume up to 1/3rd of our total trip mileage!
We look forward to riding again, and enjoy hearing from you. We would like to once again thank all of you who are following our progress, and who at one point or another, were involved in our trip.
Kevin

Hey guys,
I forgot to tell Wes on the phone tonight, but i jis thought i would share with you guys a lil story from home....I was at the Courthouse Athletic Club in South Salem working out tonight, and I mentioned that my boyfriend was riding on a bike across the country. The lady I was talking to (whom I've never met in my life) immediately asked me, "For Morinaka?" I was amazed and so happy that she knew exactly what I was talking about before I even told her what you guys are doing. So be encouraged guys, you are doing an excellent job of getting the word out about Kalan and ALS. People are hearing and thinking about it. I hope the weather lifts up, and you get a good ride in tomorrow. Be safe guys!

Greetings,
Your journey is a wonderful gift for Kalan and his family. The people and the situations you are encountering along the way are no accident - it is all meant to make this an extraordinary chapter in your life, and in the life of those people you touch along the way. I love reding your notes, hearing your stories, sharing this experience with you - from the comfort of my office! It's one mile at a time, and one can always do a mile for Kalan. Take care, be safe, support ech other, enjoy every minute, and feel the support from everyone at ORGAMMA and SAE. Rob
Phi Alpha Brothers,
Great job on your trek. If you have time when passing through Las Cruces, I own a winery and bistro it is off exit 140 (I-10) about 3/4 mile on the right. I would like to buy you lunch. Hope all goes well on your trip. Take care and Gods speed.
